Home Sweet Home Inspections –
01/31/2009 Professional home inspections are an important part of any real estate transaction. Professional home inspections protect the buyer, seller and real estate professional by helping to identify hidden or unknown issues in the home that could come back to haunt the new homeowner. Today we have a very special guest…..Johnny Jones, the inspector/owner of Home Sweet Home Inspections in the Studio and we’re going to talk about home inspections.

06/21/2008 It's summertime in Sierra Vista, and that means swimming pools are the subject of many conversations. Maintenance, cleaning, equipment, chemical balance, water temperature, black algae, all this and more become a part of every day conversation. Invariably I get various questions from Sierra Vista and Cochise County real estate buyers, sellers and investors about swimming pools. Swimming pools have long been a way to make a backyard into a recreational oasis. According to the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals, the number of new in-ground pools in the U.S. grew by 10% from 2002 to 2005, and some 4.7 million U.S. homes have in-ground pools. But what do you need to know before you buy a home with a pool. What do you need to know before you build a pool? What do you need to know if you have children and own a pool and want to own a pool?

06/14/2008 If you have been listening to the media free-for-all reporting on how bad the real estate market is, you might think it’s a bad time to build a new home….. and even though some of what they're reporting is true —how can it possibly be a good time to build? You have to look at the long term. Real estate has its ups and downs. But if you think about the fact that housing demands will increase as populations continue to surge. By the year 2050, we will add approximately 110 million more new Americans, all of whom will need a place to call home. What do you need to know about building a new home? For the first time in years you can get a quality home built in a reasonable time. It was only a short time ago that you had to get on a waiting list for lots and then it might have taken another year to get your home built. Because the housing market has slowed down, consumers are in a position to take advantage of lower material prices, competitive subcontractor bids, and more equity when the home is finished. Now is the perfect time to build if you are looking to save money!

06/07/2008 Today we have Brad Richardson of New West Lending in the Studio and we’re going to talk about mortgages. Buying a home or property can be a huge investment, and if you’re like most people it’s an investment that you can’t pay for out-of-pocket. As you may be aware, that’s where a mortgage comes into play… but do you really know what a mortgage is? Sure, it’s a loan on a house or other piece of real estate, but there’s a lot more to it than that. Mortgages come in a variety of types and time spans, and can be used to either purchase a new home or piece of real estate or to secure additional money using that real estate as collateral. The implications of this are pretty straightforward… you get the money, but if you don’t pay it back then that house or property belongs to the bank. Of course, it’s not entirely that simple… but what else is involved in getting a mortgage? So listen carefully as we find out the inside information about mortgages.
